You gotta eat sometime. Make it fun!

“Whiz Wit” (Cheesesteak with cheese whiz and onions) ~$8

My first taste of a cheesesteak in Philadelphia.  I ordered what the “locals” do.  That was “whiz wit” meaning a cheesesteak with cheese wiz with onions.  Prior to visiting Philly, my idea of a cheesesteak was beef with provolone cheese along with sauteed onions and peppers.

To my surprise, the more common order version was without peppers.  And I tried cheese wiz instead of provolone because that seemed to be a very popular choice of the locals.  Though it’s processed cheese, it tasted very good.

Jim’s cheesesteak has more finely chopped beef compared to some other places I’ll be trying.  The onions are fried/sauteed pretty well. It’ll be interesting to compare.  They run their business like a well oiled machine like most cheesesteaks establishments. It’s a necessity  to keep up with the high demand and volume of customers.

I’ll have my follow-up post ranking all the cheesesteak places I’ll be visiting.
